Tuscaloosa Community SOup Bowl


The items on this list will help families served by the Community Soup Bowl prepare a wonderful Thanksgiving Meal. Return these items to the church office by Wednesday, November 14th and our volunteers will distribute them at the Soup Bowl.

Return only these items listed below - enough to feed a family of four:

Instant Mashed Potatoes

Canned Yams

Canned Cranberry Sauce

Canned Green Beans

Boxed Mac & Cheese

Individual Fruit Cups (package of 4)

$8 payable to FUMCT designated "Thanksgiving"

Zeigler is providing cooked, sliced ham at cost ($8 each) directly to the Soup Bowl.

Our goal is 80 filled grocery bags and 80 hams!

Each year we partner with Tuscaloosa DHR by adopting foster children for Christmas. We have 10 out of 118 wish list cards left to adopt! Sundays, November 11th through 25th the cards will be outside of each worship service. Gifts may be returned wrapped or unwrapped with the wish list card attached (no used clothing is accepted).

Please return gifts before Sunday, December 2nd!

If you are interested in volunteering for a relief team, email with your information. We will alert you when teams are needed.

The amount of rainwater and storm surge from the Gulf of Mexico is unprecedented. We have been asked to put  together flood cleanup buckets for UMCOR. The instructions below are very critical to the effectiveness of the cleaning kit in the field. For more information, contact Deadline is Sunday, November 4th.

TES offers a vast array of client services, including food assistance, clothing and help with utilities, so volunteers are always in demand. Our volunteers can work during office hours 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday or at the TES Thrift Store 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday & Saturdays 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. There are many different functions available for volunteers at our agency:

helping out in our always busy Thrift Store, filling food bags for our clients, sorting donations and many more!

Santa's Sleigh Star Program | Santa's Sleigh is full of stars that have come from here and far. Each star has a special person and two wishes they have for Santa this year.
